PPC Section 266 | Being in possession of false weight or measure:

PPC Section 266: Being in possession of false weight or measure:

Whoever is in possession of any instrument for weighing, or of any weight, or of any measure of length or capacity, which he knows to be false and intending that the same may be fraudulently used, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year, Or with fine, or with both.

Offence	Cognizance	Summons / Warrant	Bailable / Not Bailable	Compoundable or Not	Punishment	Triable By
Being in possession of false weights or measures for fraudulent use.	Shall not arrest without warrant.	Summons ..	Bailable..	Not Compounable	Imprisonment of either description for 1 year, or fine, or both.	Magistrate of the first or second class.

Offence: Bailable.. --- Being in possession of false weights or measures for fraudulent use.

Punishment--- Imprisonment of either description for 1 year, or fine, or both.
