CPC Section 1

Short title, commencement and extent.

(1) This Act may be cited as the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.

(2) It shall come into force on the first day of January, 1909.

[(3) It extends to the whole of Pakistan.]

[(4) The primary objective of this Code is to enable the Courts to-

• (a) deal the cases justly and fairly;
• (b) encourage parties to alternate dispute resolution procedure if it considers appropriate;
• (c) save expends and time both of Courts and litigants; and
• (d) enforce compliance with provision of the Code.
